Two Cameroonian boxers who went missing during the London Olympics have been found living in England.
Thomas Essomba, 25, and Blaise Yepmou Mendouo, 28, were discovered living in a homeless shelter in Sunderland, north east England, after disappearing from the Olympic Village last year along with five other athletes. But the Home Office has confirmed it granted the pair asylum and sent them to Sunderland, where they are able to train for free in a gym.Mendouo said: “Where I live it’s not very good for me but I don’t have a choice.
“Sometimes I think about my mum but it’s too hard. Anyway, I’m happy to be here.”
