Born on May 3, 1979 into the family of Benedatte and Theophilus Nnaji, Genny, like I enjoy addressing her, hails from Umuebi – Amuzu in Aboh-Mbaise, Imo State. The fourth of her parents’ eight children, she attended Kemstar Nursery and Primary School, Surulere, Lagos; Methodist Girls High School, Lagos and Girls Secondary School, Akwakuma, Owerri, Imo State. Dazzling and delectable, sumptuous and sexy, sweet and svelte, she is unarguably and indisputably the reigning pride of Africa in the make-believe world. One of our biggest and richest, the single mother of one (Lily) who has in her kitty some of the most coveted award trophies and to her credit some of the most lucrative endorsement deals poured it all out to AZUH ARINZE. Trust me; you will definitely enjoy this… (Smiles) I’m trying to handle it as much as I can. It feels fulfilling. I feel I’m having the best of my time. I feel the Lord is with me. I feel I have been able to make an impact on people and I have a lot of fans and I’m enjoying my life. It feels good. To what or whom do you owe all that? God’s gift, talent, determination, pride… What do you mean by pride? They say it goes before a fall. And now you are saying it is responsible for your success? You have to have pride to be able to stand the crowd, you have to have pride to be able to stand the intimidation and arrogance of people. Especially people who feel you have to pay dues to get to where you are going. You have to have the pride and stamina to tell them boldly you know what you are doing; they didn’t bring you to the industry, you will leave when you want to and you leave because you want to. Where do you want to ogennyr hope to be in the next 10 years? In the next 10 years, I know I will be married with kids. But I think it all depends on what God has fashioned out for me. I know I will still be in the entertainment industry or the fashion world or whatever. What do you like most about stardom because it appears you don’t want to tell us about your love life? The fact that it opens doors for you is what I like most about it. You walk into a place and every other person is queuing up for one thing or the other, they just start to recognize you. Oh! come in, come in…It’s actually a door opener for us or for me. It has brought respect, especially when you do what you are doing well. What I hate most about it is the price that we get to pay for stardom – negative publicity, the untrue scandals; actually, the only thing I hate about it is the bad press. What will you say is the worst story ever written about you in the press? So many bad things. But the one I hated most was the one of Fred Amata and I, which I don’t know where they got it from. It hurt me so much. It was not just fair. How do you feel anytime you read negative things about your person in the media? Certainly, I don’t feel good-- It’s rarely been the truth. Maybe a bit of it, but that’s not how it happened. The press never tells the story the way it is. It’s usually a bit from here and a bit from there. For a very long time, they have not written anything true about me… How did you come into the movie industry? I have been acting since I was eight in Ripples. That was how I got into acting. For movies, I think that should be 1998 in Most Wanted. I met Torino (Emeka Ojukwu) in a bus and to my greatest surprise, he recognized me, from Ripples, when I was about eight, nine. He asked why I left the industry. He later invited me to this audition – Most Wanted. I got a role, a ‘waka-pass’ and that was it. But the story we heard was that Kunle Coker brought you in and that both of you even dated? Yes, Kunle Coker was actually my boyfriend. But he did not bring me into the industry. They said he was heartbroken when you deserted him. What led to the collapse of your relationship? Well, relationships come and go. Is it true that you dumped him for Fred Amata? Fred Amata? I’ve never had anything to do with Fred Amata. In Ripples, I used to call Fred Amata uncle. So, I don’t see the reason why I should date Fred Amata. Fred Amata and I are just friends. I don’t have anything to do with him. Are you now saying that apart from Kunle Coker, you have not dated any other person in the industry? I will not say that and I will not say anything on the contrary either. I don’t think it is your business. It’s my personal life. What do you find most attractive in a man? The fact that a man will take me for who I am, not for what he hears or what he believes. I like people who take me for the me they see. That’s the most important thing. And have regard for me. And trust too. Everyone makes mistakes. But to me, I will not tolerate any man who hits women. To me, that’s evil. Do you believe in love at first sight? I believe in infatuation at first sight. Love is a very strong feeling. It does not just come. People think infatuation is being in love. They are two different things. You don’t know anything yet until you get to meet the person and you begin to fall in love. Not just physically, but externally with the person. Can you recollect the first time you fell in love? Yes! Tell us about it. I think we met at a show. This was when I was in secondary school and we shared a lot of things in common – singing. It was a case of two compatible people who were so much in love with each other and… (Interruption) So, what eventually happened? Like I said, relationships must come and go. You can’t help everything that happens. Some things just happen for no reason. What’s your definition of love? Love has to be understanding, caring. Love, to me, is being with somebody for 24 hours without being bored. Love is catching your breath every time you see whoever you are in love with. Love is friendship, love is understanding and love is trust. Do you believe in being faithful in a relationship? Yeah! I’m very faithful. I’ve never dated a fan. And I don’t know if I can. But people come around to toast as per fans. But it’s a matter of nicely telling them off. There are different reasons why fans like or love artistes. So, it actually depends on why my fan loves me. It depends. Althogenevieve1[1]ugh, I don’t think it is advisable to date a fan. The reason being that people are in love with what they see on the screen, not the real you. What’s your idea of a sensual treat? Quiet time in a place surrounded by nature, water, trees…less talk, more of feelings, let the feelings show instead. What part of a man’s body do you like most? What kind of questions are these? Must I answer that? Okay, a man’s chest, from the belly up. What part of your own body do you like most? I guess it’s my eyes. I think I like my eyes. What’s your greatest wish? That God continues to bless me. Especially with the right man and a good family. It’s like you are too eager to get married? No, no, no. The thing is just that there comes a time in your life where everything is going fine. And all you say to yourself is after this, what next? After everything, you have to get married as far as you are a woman. What’s your favourite colour? Blue. What are your hobbies? Singing, dancing…

Mercy Johnson Clocks 29...Says She Would have Been Begging For Food If Not For God
Mother of one and Nollywood actress and Mercy Johnson Okojie clocks 29 yesterday.
In the spirit of celebration, she sent out a message to her fans yesterday, thanking God for sparing her life till date and making her what she is today.
In her message, Mercy said she would have ended up a pr0stitut3 but for God who has shown her mercy.
Here is the message:
Today, I thought of many things I would love to have as birthday gifts and the many dreams I’m still pursuing.
In all of this I’m not losing sight of the fact that if not for God I might have ended up on the street like the many kids and young adults begging for food and some pr0stituting to make ends meet.
If we know the circumstances that force some of these people on the street we would spare a thought for them. I am where I am today purely by the grace of God and the grace of the people who believed in me from the word go.
Recently, I was at the Boys Reform Oregun,Lagos, the discussion I had with the principal Mr. Kotun and much later with the Special Adviser in charge of all remand homes in Lagos set me thinking about the boys and girls on the street.
They have dreams too. Can they fulfill those dreams on the street? The answer will likely be no because I won’t be where I am today if I had ended up on the street.
For this reason, Mercy Johnson Foundation will be doing a lot to get kids off the street. We are not asking people for funds. I will do all I can with the resources God has given me, and with the support of my husband to help get these kids off the street and set them on the path where they can begin to pursue their dreams.
I want to plead with people, fans, friends and colleagues to spare a thought for the children on the street.
We can begin by educating people around us, parents, the children and people people in charge of children (Oga-house help relationship, teacher-student relationship, and others) on the need to treat every child like the future of Nigeria depends on it.
And truth be told, our future will not be all that enjoyable if we let the scourge of ‘street-children’ fester. By then, the rich will begin to cry.
I learnt Lagos State Government has 11 homes where most children picked from the streets are kept, reformed and reunited with their families after counseling.
That is an initiative Mercy Johnson Foundation will be supporting and beyond that we will be going to different states to help spread the message – Get kids off the street, save the future.
From tomorrow, I will begin to replay some of the lessons I learnt at the boys’ reform homeand we all can contribute to getting the kids off the street.
I am grateful to everyone that has sent in a birthday message tweet and gifts. When I get back, let’s have twitter party. Thank you and God bless you.

Regina Askia denies insulting femi fani kayode
Below is the statement, May I seize this time to thank all my fans especially my Yoruba friends for their support through this very annoying ordeal. It’s sad that some hungry blogger can up and publish anything and append anyone’s name to it thinking they can remain faceless behind social media but thankfully through the same means and your vigorous support we were able to turn that around. I thank my reps for wise counsel and for swiftly identifying the faceless cowards even though these individuals proved to be of little consequence hence no wasting of resources in legal pursuit – at this time. In the same spirit of love and cooperation, I would request that my generation of Nigerians wholeheartedly reject the notion of tribalism, xenophobia, hedonism and nepotism being displayed by our men and women in power. For how can we explain beggars and the destitute being deported from one part of their country to another as opposed to the government investing in better social services, how can we explain an individual having his home sealed for purportedly speaking up against an injustice, how can condemn a whole tribe of people because of injustices of years before most of us were born? Did you guys see the violence when a member of the house hit another on the head with a mace, did you hear the utterances of BokoHaram having enough fire power to on the US (Im sorry but I had to laugh at that one). We fought a bitter war in the late 60’s the scars of which we all bear to date and these careless statements and attitudes will do nothing but eventually lead to another. It is time to call our leaders to order. We saw the genocide in Rwanda and the degeneration of the society of Congo. It would be real easy for the “Big Brother countries” of this world to come and help us get our house in order since we cannot do it by ourselves (soft invasion). We need to stop and refocus. Finally I always say you can tell who a person is just by listening to their utterances for out of the fullness of the heart the mouth speaketh. I don’t think its right that a mother would call another person’s child, a bastard, nor should a woman call another a slut. Real gentlemen do not kiss and tell, a well-bred and cultured person has tact enough to tell you to go to hell and have you looking forward to that trip. Let us each be at this time the change we want to see. Till then I remain – The ultimate Sisi Eko (because Lagos is where I was born an partly raised) of a proud Akwa Ibom lineage, totally Nigerian to boot, living as a citizen of the world in the United States of America. Deal with it!! Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!! One Love. Now, this is the fake statement which Regina denies ever releasing, I’ve Just Been Told That Having Sex With An Igbo Woman Is A Great Accomplishment!!! After reading another hard-drug-influenced-essay by the Yoruba idiot parading himself as Femi Fani-Kayode,Ex-Minister of the Nigerian Federation, I felt there was no need to blame him for giving us another reason why his family members should as a matter of urgency, BUNDLE HIM BACK TO A REHAB! No! I don’t blame Femi Fani-Kayode for having a fun-filled day telling us how he ‘breezed’ through Bianca Onoh before our very revered Eze-Igbo married her… I blame Bianca Onoh , Chioma Anasoh & Adaobi Uchegbu for being naive or to have rather stooped so low to have intimate relationship with a Yoruba rascal/urchin/idiot whom i’m very sure was on heavy use of cocaine (and still is) at the time! Were Bianca, Chioma & Adaobi blind to Femi’s madness/drug-addiction or maybe he flashed his Ministerial/Ex-Ministerial portfolio to entice them? This is the first time a former public figure (I blame Former President Obasanjo for giving him that privilege) has preferred to reel out the names of women he had sex with, in a bid to show-off how he has been able to conquer tribalism in Nigeria or maybe trying to tell others he has been able to have sex with one of the prettiest ex beauty queens another tribe may boast of, like Bianca Ojukwu (Nee Onoh) of the Igbo tribe. Some persons have advised that Femi Fani-Kayode should be ignored due to his MENTAL INSTABILITY but i say NO to it! I will not ignore him because when a mad-man chases one into his house & still want to exhibit that madness there, the owner of the house will definitely react except he doesn’t value his house! This has taken a tribal angle & its such a shame that many Yorubas have been applauding Fani-Kayode’s spiteful comments against the Igbo. I may not want to generalize the behavioural disorders of even the average Yoruba, but i want to use this ample opportunity to remind our single Igbo sisters that if “He” is not Igbo, He can’t be like an Igbo-man who won’t be so ridiculous to think that giving us some of the names of our ladies he had sex with makes him a superman, as Femi Kayode must be ‘thinking’ in his fool’s paradise. Right now in Nigeria, the likes of a Yoruba bastard like Femi Fani-Kayode have proved that Igbo women should think “wisely” in making choices as regards whom they allow ‘ACCESS’ to their much fancied bodies. An Igboman would NEVER do what Femi Fani-Kayode did with the names of Bianca Ojukwu (Nee Onoh), PDP’s Adaobi Uchegbu & the relatively unknown Chioma Anasoh or even women from other tribes. He typically exhibited behavioural disorder of the Yorubas, which is to them, a normal way of life. What a shame! Bianca Ojukwu & the other two ladies should as a matter of urgency, reply Femi Fani-Kayode’s show of lunacy, stupidity, foolishness, infantile reasoning & utter disrespect for them! Femi Fani-Kayode consciously & gladly made a spiteful remark of Igbo women & our women should take the fight to him in a very deserving impudent manner! I am waiting for the responses by Bianca, Adaobi & Chioma
The Task Of Being A Billionaire Son`s Wife-DAKORE
The beautiful actress also proved very unique by getting applaud-able acceptance from marketers and producers even after taking a break for almost two years. Soft spoken Dakore, staged a comeback to Nollywood with new interesting movies where she took lead roles already hitting the cinemas. She was recently interviewed by Enquirer’s Faith Irabor and I bet you wouldn’t want to miss all the interesting things she said in the chat. Please read on Now that Dakore has a baby girl, how many more kids is she planning to have? I don’t know. I am just enjoying having a baby. She is just two years, so I am not in a hurry. God knows, my baby means the world to me. She inspires me to want to go back to work. I don’t mind if she ends up an actress tomorrow; she can do whatever she wants to do in life. I will only encourage her. So tell me, what’s your beauty routine like? Well I exercise, you know I also have to watch my diet as well as try to be happy at all times and my daughter keeps me happy. Let’s not also ignore the fact that motherhood seems to fit you? It’s amazing even me I’m in shock, it is like I feel more brighter, more relaxed in my own skin, I think being a mum did that for me. What has motherhood taught you? Self sacrifices, thinking about yourself the last because it’s all about my angel, my life.(laughs) How old is your daughter now? She is almost 2 and to see this helpless little baby now growing amazingly is so interesting. She has started talking gradually, she calls me mama. Though it`s very difficult, let me tell you it is not easy to be a mother. But a lot of people who see you will think it is all easy especially because you are married to the son of a billionaire? No, it is very difficult because I almost had to put Dakore the actor in a separate world, I had to put that on pause so I could focus on being a wife and a mum so now I’m coming back into the whole scene and I thank God for my fans who had been so supportive and patient and I really hope through me they will understand that a woman can have everything, but not at the same time. Can you tell us one of your most recent movies now that you’re back? One of my most recent movies is titled “Journey to Serve” it was at the cinema, it had Ashionye, Nse Ikpe, Chris Attor, Femi Jacob and so on, unfortunately it didn’t run as long as I would have liked and of course it didn’t come out at the time it should have, there was a little problem with that and I shot another movie in Cameroon and that should come out in September 2013. Then I’m supposed to go on set again in less than two weeks from now God willing. That means your husband is not telling you not to act anymore? No! He never did. A lot of your fans were misinformed, they did say it wasn’t just your husband, but your father in law as well, how true is that? You know what, I’m hurt because I’m also a journalist, I studied journalism at the University of Lagos (Mass Communications) so I know what I’m supposed to do if you hear a rumour or have a story. All you journalists needed to do was call me and say Dakore please can you clarify this story about you, but nobody reached me, nobody did that , if anyone did, I will gladly answer, but everyone had the idea already, that it’s over for her. But we heard it was part of the terms your father in-law gave if you must marry his son? Were they there? (General laughter) Did my father in-law stand here, and they were there when he made the declaration? Can they tell us what we were wearing that day and he told me that if you want to marry my son you must quit acting, I will run the other way if that was the case, so I just kept quiet because there is no way I could reach everybody to explain to them, it`s totally false and has no iota of truth. When you and your husband heard the rumour what were your reactions? It was very hurtful because he was even like ‘Dear did you ever say that?’ I said no they just said it so I felt really bad because I thought of how many people am I going to explain to, so I just decided instead of talking the talk, let me work the work and just do the work. The truth is I’m not gone. I’m still acting but can’t be running on set with a little baby as at that time because she was still growing and needed my full attention and care. Will you still take kissing roles? I have to consider my husband before taking any role these days. I will not do romantic roles as I used to back in the day. Though, if I get a role that is good and positive, maybe I could act. I am now a new Dakore and not the old Dakore people used to know because I am coming into a new era in my career. I am now a mother and a wife. I just have to be more discerning about them But between us don’t you feel threatened by the new emergence in Nollywood? Why should I? The truth I can’t be threatened by any new faces regardless because I am Dakore and unique in my own way so also are they. And we should be happy for them because we need new faces too to grow, it can’t in anyway affect my market value because everyone has gotten their style. Can we have full insight into your educational background? I went to Corona School, Gbagada, Lagos one of the best schools in Nigeria which I am very proud of. It was at Corona that I discovered my talents. I always loved to act, dance and sing. I was a member of the choir and was everywhere doing something. I got a lot of time to express myself artistically. After my primary education at Corona, I proceeded to the Federal Government Girls' College, Bauchi. I was very adventurous as a child. I was very independent. I wanted to see the world and it was my first time being away from home on my own. It was a fantastic experience even though I was the youngest in the class and some students used to bully me. But it was fun because it was an eye opening experience. I got to meet a lot of students from all over Nigeria. You know before my sojourn in Bauchi I used to meet students from either Lagos or Ogun. But here were students from Gongola, Kaduna, Bauchi and so on. I had a wonderful experience. I finished from FGGC Bauchi and moved to the University of Lagos for a diploma programme and later went for a degree in Mass Communication. How is your husband coping now that you are back? He is doing very well. I must commend him. He understands the nature of my job and he has been very supportive, he is my greatest fan ever. My husband is a very confident man and he understands it’s my job so he is not jealous that I am in the limelight.
PDP SPLITS; ATIKU, AMAECHI AND 6 OTHER GOVERNORS FORM NEW FACTION
Nigeria's former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and five other governors walked out of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Convention that held in Abuja today and went to form a faction of the party. The governors who left the convention with Atiku are: Governor Mu'azu Babangida Aliyu of Niger state, governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State, governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto state, governor Musa Kwankwaso of Kano state, and governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara state.
Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa and Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state, who were barred from attending the convention, joined the other governors, Atiku, and Bukola Saraki in the new factional PDP.
After addressing an impromptu press conference explaining why they decided to form a new faction, officers were immediately elected. Abubakar Baraje was elected chairman, while former Osun State governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola was elected Secretary.
So now there's a GEJ PDP and an Atiku PDP. Lol. Our leaders are comedians
Omotola’s international strides rekindle cold war with Genevieve
It is very difficult to become a successful actor in Nigeria’s Nollywood. It is however much, much more difficult to become successful in America’s Hollywood, movie capital of the world. Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, having achieved all there is to achieve in Nollywood, has set her sights on Hollywood. She is trying to become successful in it and has been taking the steps to help her achieve her laudable aim. The most noteworthy step she’s taken is to align herself with entertainment agents in America who will help her realise the ambition. Since joining forces with the agents, she has been getting the necessary international publicity that will give her the visibility she needs to be reckoned with by international movie and TV producers.
It was alleged recently that it was her agents who got her on the TIME 100 Most Influential People In The World list. Though she refused to confirm or deny the claim to Entervaganza, the honour led to her being seen as Nollywood’s best, a title which has been in contention between her and Genevieve Nnaji for years.
Such was their believed battle for the title that it was widely claimed that they were not on good terms, despite the fact that they even co-starred in some movies. Ibinabo Fiberesima, president of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria, was said to have settled their cold war, a claim she also refused to deny or confirm to Entervaganza. Nevertheless, after Ibinabo’s alleged intervention, they were finally spotted in a really friendly manner hugging publicly at Omotola’s birthday party.
But when AGN celebrated Omotola’s TIME 100 honour, Genevieve didn’t attend the party and tongues immediately started wagging again that the duo had returned to their former cold war status as Genny is not pleased by Omotola’s TIME 100 honour which people say has made it obvious that Omotola is Nollywood’s best. As it is right now, Omotola has appeared on the cover of the UK’s Sunday Telegraph Stella magazine and she was described as the queen of Nollywood. So tongues are wagging again that she has one more again over Genevieve.
Though Genny has also been receiving some mention in international media circles, Omotola’s are more pronounced presently. Omosexy’s picture on the Stella cover wasn’t really flattering, however, compared to those that led to her being known as Omosexy, and she was further described as the biggest film star you’ve never heard of, a description that people don’t see as complimentary, just like Ice Prince was presented backstage with his BET award in America instead of on stage.
