MUST READ: An Open Letter to Tiwa Savage

I found this letter by a fan to Tiwa Savage who is getting married to Tunji Balogun this saturday , 23rd of Nov. 2013 at The Ark Vicinity in Lekki, Lagos.and i decided to share. Read below and let us know what you think.

"..So I read in some interviews that her fiancé said that they have a limited invitation cards for their wedding which means he doesn’t want crowd, fans or party crashers at his wedding, and I was like “whatever” that he has pride and what was he feeling like with the believe that Tiwa doesn’t know anything about this and she wouldn’t say such to her fans.
But to my own surprise, few days later I read in another interview where Tiwa also said the same thing “If you’re not invited don’t come to our wedding”, I was really disappointed that she could say such despite the fact that we are the ones buying her records and also it is our money they want to use for this their wedding ooo. These artistes don’t know that without with us (fans) they can’t succeed in this business.

I made up my mind never to buy her records again, for her and her fiancé to say such to their fans who buy their records. So I began to wonder why would they say such, is it that they don’t want to spend, they are being stingy or maybe they want a low key wedding which I don’t think so.

So today I was going through some blogs and I saw a gist that the controversial Kemi Omololu Ololoyun said Tiwa Savage is getting married to a married man with a kid, huh! I was shocked, I couldn’t believe it I had go straight to google and search if the story is true, trust google, google showed me everything patapata and it was confirmed that this her fiancé Tee billz is indeed married with a kid but separated and not yet divorced.

What da f??k! So I realise this is the reason she doesn’t want crowd at her wedding because she’s scared. But seriously Why would she do such? I’m highly disappointed in her, it shows she is very desperate to get married with the fact that it is illegal to get married to a married man who isn’t divorced. Shame on you Tiwa Savage, is it someone like you that is suppose to say you don’t want crowd and uninvited guests at your wedding? You want to marry somebody else’s husband yet you flew abroad to buy wedding gown and you con dey flaunt am to the world, shame no catch you?

Anyways, I am happy for you but please be wise, let the divorce come first before you enter his house biko, we all know you are not getting any younger but please little patience would do. Getting married to a legally married man is totally wrong, it only shows how desperate you are.
And once again, is it true you caused the rift between Don Jazzy and Wande Coal? Xoxo"

ASUU Strike Update: Angry ASUU Leaders Chase Governor Wada Out Of Hospital

Idris Wada
Angry leaders of the Academic Staff Union of Universities allegedly chased away the Governor of Kogi State, Captain Idris Wada (retd.) from the emergency ward of the  Lokoja General Hospital on Tuesday.

Wada had gone to the hospital  to visit their  injured colleague, Dr. Ngozi Ilo,   and commiserate with them over the death of their  former President, Prof. Festus Iyayi,   in an accident involving his convoy  and an ASUU vehicle on Tuesday. The  Chairman, University of Benin chapter  of ASUU, Dr. Anthony Monye-Emina; and the Benin Zonal Coordinator, Dr. Sunny Iyalo, had minor injuries and were therefore not admitted into the hospital.
The ASUU leaders, including the National President, Dr. Biodun Ogunyemi;  the Ibadan Zonal Coordinator, Dr. Nassir Adesola; the Chairman, Lagos State University chapter of the union, Dr. Adekunle Idris;    Monye-Emina;   Iyalo  and lecturers from the Federal University Lokoja however sent the governor away from the hospital’s emergency ward. Their grouse was Wada’s  late response to the accident and the uncaring attitude he allegedly displayed towards the union leaders  involved in the accident. They also accused him of trying to make a political gain out of their misfortune.
Idris, who confirmed that  Wada was chased out of the  emergency ward, said,    “We are surprised that a state governor could resort to telling lies because contrary to the claim by his spokesperson that he showed care towards our colleagues, he did not. “Somebody that did not stop after his convoy killed our leader; somebody that did not come to the hospital until some minutes to 5pm(on Tuesday) after the accident that happened around 11am could not be said to be caring.
“That was why we chased him out of the emergency ward of the hospital and we also prevented him from seeing Prof. Iyayi’s corpse in the mortuary. “We are not happy with the fact that he came very late to the hospital and the fact that when he came, his press crew attempted to take photograph and video record of Dr. Ilo, who is our national welfare  secretary. We stopped them because that was  the  height of insensitivity.
“Somebody that could not provide us with an ambulance cannot be said to be caring. We had to call UNIBEN for an ambulance that took Ilo to the UNIBEN Teaching Hospital while our colleagues from the Federal University, Lokoja, with the assistance of the vice-chancellor, gave us the ambulance that was used to convey the remains of Prof. Iyayi to Benin.” Idris added that though Wada  left the hospital “like a gentleman,”  some of  his overzealous  security aides tried  to be naughty.

He should have stopped after the incident occured, not visit after several hours! What do you think?

Crisis rocks CAN as pastors move against Oritsejafor

Crisis is brewing in the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, as members from the Niger Delta, under the aegis of Global Peace Relief Initiative, led by Prophet Jones Erue, yesterday, faulted President of the association, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, over what they described as the unacceptable comments made against them, following their attempts to reconcile the G-7 governors with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

In a statement by Prophet Erue, the Niger Delta pastors described Oritsejafor's comment to the effect that CAN was apolitical, as laughable, accusing the CAN President of getting involved in politics of calumny and name dropping.
They said that they might not be as rich as the CAN President or own a private jet,  but were men of integrity.

The statement said: "We are disappointed that a leader could sit and watch his two children fight while the rest of us suffer only to come and blackmail those who take their time to seek solutions to the crisis." They warned that no amount of blackmail or intimidation would deter them from the noble mission of rescuing the country from imminent collapse.

"It is surprising that Pst Ayo Oritsejafor, the CAN president will handle issues of immense gravity and national importance hastily, with levity and without discretion. The first and easiest thing to know about a man is his name; it is a pity that the CAN president does not know the name of the group of clerics he is addressing nor their affiliates.

"Expecting him to have minimal knowledge on what they stand for, will be tantamount to exerting too much pressure on his aging gray matter. We are begging his aides and personal assistants to do their job well and stop exposing this great man of God to disrepute.

"These eminent clerics and their affiliate, Global Peace and Relief Initiative have taken on a laudable project of consulting across all interest group and stakeholders concerning the Nigerian project. Nigeria is the only country we can call our own and as fathers we cannot fold our hands and watch intolerance and impunity destroy our nation.

"To place the records straight, we have not made promises to any persons and we have not used the name of CAN, we have an affiliate whose mission and vision best defines our activity. We are noble men and do not rail accusation on authorities.

"It is a pity that the handlers of the CAN president have allowed miscreants, to drag him into a show of shame, misinformed the press and over laboured the corporate affairs commission with a futile search.

"If we may ask, whose registration were they authenticating? A group they barely know its name?  This is a faith based Non Governmental Organisation, NGO, with memberships spread across the nation. Our main business is advocacy, conflict prevention/ resolution and facilitation of peace projects whether individual, group, organisation or government. We create a good soil for developmental projects and people oriented policies to thrive

"For the CAN president to say CAN is apolitical is laughable, as the same president is involved in politics of calumny and name dropping. "The CAN's statement as reported by the media does not represent the facts on ground but a mere imagination. Calling names at this critical period of the nation's political development does not represent the responsibility expected of a great leader of Pastor Ayo Oritsejeafor's capacity"

"We want to place it on record that the Bishops and Clerics in this body may not own private jets but are men of unquestionable character, dependable leaders, and stewards of peace and holders of reputable degrees. The leader of this group Prophet Jones Ode Erue is a highly respected both in political and religious circles. Many people have benefited from the peace initiatives by this great icon since 2002 till date.

"When men lack purpose and relevance, rather than encourage others with vision and purpose they become detractors of good and well meaning Nigerians. " We are disappointed that a leader could sit and fold his hands and watch his two children fight while the rest of us suffer only to come and blackmail those who take their time to seek solutions to the crisis.

The forum wishes to state emphatically that no amount of cheap blackmail or intimidation can deter it from this noble mission to rescue the country from the imminent collapse which can be averted. "We are duty bound to restore peace and unity to our dear country, Nigeria.

" We will continue with the ongoing consultation with all stake holders in the task of putting Nigeria back to the road, to national unity and development"  stated

Saraki's dynasty one year after

The passing to glory of Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki, the Waziri of Ilorin and Founder of Northern Union (NU) on Wednesday November 14, at the age of 79 was seen in the nation's polity and among the political elites as the fall of an elephant. His death marked a virtual end of an era defined by political activism, philanthropy and most importantly the prolonged hegemonic grip of Kwara politics, the influence which analysts say was a product of his resilience, dedication and unprecedented generosity through which he won the hearts of many Kwarans especially the womenfolk who constitute a strong and potent electoral bloc in the state.
For close to four decades, Saraki was not only the deciding factor in Kwara politics, he was more or less the only factor which determined the political direction of the state. He was no doubt one of the most successful politicians in Nigeria having installed virtually all the civilian governors the state had produced since its creation in 1967 including his son.
Those he installed but fell out with him never got the chance for a second coming. In 1979, he single-handedly installed the state's first governor, Adamu Attah. When Attah fell out with him in the subsequent election year, he joined forces with the then opposition Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) and installed Chief Cornelius Adebayo.
In 1999, after the return of democracy in Nigeria, he installed another governor, Alhaji Mohammed Lawal on the ticket of the All Peoples Party (APP).  Before the 2003 election, the affection between Lawal and Saraki had gone sour. Saraki dumped Lawal and installed his son, Bukola, as the next governor.  Under his watch, Bukola got the ticket for a second term in office in 2007, thus becoming the first governor to rule for two tenure.
However, Saraki's major defeat to the chagrin of many ardent political watchers was in 2011, when he floated the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), on which platform he sought to install his daughter, then a senator, Gbemisola, as the next governor. The attempt was not successful as the Peoples Democratic Party PDP), backed by his son, won the election.
That probably was his major defeat since his foray into politics. However, no sooner than the election finished than there was a rapproachment within the Saraki's political empire as the ACPN loyalists and supporters were asked to shift loyalty to the PDP.
With his death last year, many politicians and observers opine that Kwara politics can never be the same again even though the junior Saraki, after serving eight years as governor and as Senator representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly; the seat vacated by his sister, has been taunted as leader of the political dynasty and the ruling party in the state.
But recent developments in the country and the state have validated the insinuation and hunches among observers who predicted that the death of Oloye as Saraki was fondly called by his supporters and followers, has changed the political landscape of the state.
Unlike in other states of the federation, virtually all the politicians and political office holders in Kwara state have in one way or the other passed through Oloye's political tutelage. They owe their ascension to position and fame to his anointing irrespective of the party in power. The pervasive influence of late Saraki in Kwara politics, analysts believe, is responsible for his numerous electoral successes.
With his death last year, the question on the lips of many observers was whether or not the scion of Saraki's dynasty, Bukola, who has assumed the position of leadership following the death of his father, could command the enormity of influence, clout and the followership late Saraki commanded which made him to be the only decider of who got what in the state from the governorship position to councillor including federal appointments with little or no challenge.
Sadly and most interestingly, the trend has changed owing to emerging dissensions in the dynasty with some politicians who rode through the back of Oloye to rise to political stardom in the state challenging Bukola's political leadership.
Daily Trust gathered that there had been disquiet in the state PDP leadership but the overt politicking and struggle for the political soul of the state was within the realm of conjecture until the lid was blown open in August 31 when PDP at the national level split into old and new with Kwara aligning with the latter. Those who have an axe to grind with Saraki quickly queued behind the Bamanga Tukur-led faction thereby dissociating themselves from the "rebellion" by the New PDP backed by seven Governors including Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State.
It would be recalled that prior to the August 31 event, the state PDP leadership had addressed newsmen declaring that the party in the state remains united and warning against any move at the federal level to hijack the structure which it claimed was solidly erected by the late Saraki and is currently under the leadership of Senator Bukola.
Our correspondent however gathered that the second time reappointment of Professor Shuaib Abdulraheem as Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) against the wish of Senator Saraki who prefered the zoning of the position to Kwara North was responsible for the crisis in the state PDP while the University Don is believed to be the leader of the Tukur's group or Old PDP.
Though both Saraki and Abdulraheem have maintained sealed lips over the purported friction and even exchanged pleasantries at the praying ground during the last Eid-el-Kabir celebration, their followers and supporters have been granting interviews and issuing press releases indicating disagreement between the duo. Besides, Abdulraheem led the delegation of Kwara PDP members that visited Bamanga Tukur at the Wadata Plaza secretariat of PDP in Abuja on September 18. Other members of the delegation included former Sports and Transport Minister, Alhaji Bio Ibrahim who is currently the Chairman of Nigeria Export Promotion Council, pioneer PDP chairman in the state, Barrister Kunle Sulyman, a former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Zulukarnaini Edun, among others.
But the machinery of government which is under the firm control of Senator Saraki is the greatest source of strength for members of the new PDP in the state and by extension those who remain glued to the Saraki's dynasty. With the governor openly declaring Saraki as the leader of PDP in the state and affirming his belief in the political structure of late Oloye as he told visiting All Progressives Congress (APC) National leaders last week, it is incontrovertible that Saraki still holds sway as a political leader in the state. Besides, he has the support of more than 80 per cent of National and State Assembly members from the state who have demonstrated their loyalty and pledged to continually be loyal and obedient to the political structure nurtured by the late Oloye.
Speaking with Daily Trust recently, Bio who was a 2011 governorship aspirant in the state said though he was a supporter of late Saraki while he was alive, he is presently not with his son whom he accused of being self-centred.
Following Bio's interview where he ventilated his grievances with the way he was allegedly edged out in the governorship race by Saraki, the former Speaker of the State House of Assembly has come under severe attacks from Saraki's loyalists who describe him as ingrate. Rep. Moshood Mustapha representing Ilorin West/Asa Federal constituency hit back at Bio, describing him as an ingrate. He said it was unfortunate that after all that Bukola Saraki did for Bio, he could turn his back against the man. "He is the luckiest person in Kwara politics. Saraki made him commissioner, member of the House of Reps and Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly. There is nothing he can do to condemn Saraki, because he cannot even win an election in his ward". According to him, Bio was not in a anyway loyal to late Olusola Saraki as claimed, saying all he wanted was to become governor of Kwara State, which was why he accused Bukola of being self-serving.
Also speaking, the immediate past Secretary to the Government of Kwara State who served under Saraki, Alhaji Saka Isau believes the Saraki's structure still remains intact.
According to him, those masterminding a rebellion against the dynasty are not facing the reality on ground. Those people, he added, are ingrates.
Despite the dissenting opinions and voices against the Saraki's dynasty, Baba's supporters and followers who have shifted their loyalty to his son still litter Kwara state. Among them are elders, women and youths who stand by the dynasty like a rock.
Speaking on the unfolding developments, an opposition figure in the state, Chief Iyiola Akogun who was also once a supporter of Saraki opines that after some years, Saraki's name would be totally forgotten, saying he represented nothing. According to him, 2015 elections would demonstrate whether or not Oloye's structure is still effective. Besides, he added that the late Saraki often relied on federal might to win election.
With the crisis in PDP, APC had invited Sarakis to join the party but they were not committed to the invitation extended to them. Whether or not the dynasty is still valid in Kwara State, 2015 election would tell
